Congratulations to Jessica Lee, one of the founders of Trinity Gallery, who recently got married at the stunning W Hotel, Koh Samui. Last in the team to become a bride, we figured she had good reason to look as beautiful as she did on the day and here is how:
How did you choose your wedding gown?
I tried on 3 gowns and out of the 3, I selected mine. I must admit that it does help that I have styled many brides at Trinity Gallery so I was clear on the type of gown I was looking for. As my wedding was going to be a destination wedding, I knew a simple and comfortable gown, which showed off my silhouette, was what I was looking for. Monique Lhuillier’s ‘Forever’ in blush was perfect as it was untraditional in colour and added a feminine yet stylish touch with its trumpet silhouette and tulle ruching.
What atmosphere did you want to create on your wedding day?
John and I had our wedding at the Koh Samui, W Hotel. It was a chic venue. On top of that, we wanted our wedding to be elegant and classy. I thought ‘Forever’ covered every single element we wanted to create for our wedding.
How did you complete your look? Tell us all about your accessories.
I completed my look with a Monique Lhuillier Keepsake belt. It was perfect in that it helped accentuate my waist and the crystal beads added a touch of glamour to the gown. I had a pair of Nina crystal earrings, a Nina veil and Nina shoes. I thought simple accessories was the way to go as I wanted the gown to be the highlight of the day. The colour theme for the wedding was blush and white so we had bunches of roses in those colours all around.
What was your favourite moment of the day?
I really can’t think of one! Every moment was very memorable to me – from getting ready and having my bridesmaids over, to walking down the aisle towards my husband (and seeing him shed a little tear) and spending the day surrounded by our close family and friends. It really helps that John and I were very relaxed about the wedding planning so we were able to enjoy the day when it finally came.
Any styling tips that you can share with us?
I did a trial hair and make-up with a very good professional in HK. She created my look based on the 2 gowns I was going to wear – the Monique Lhuillier ‘Forever’ in the day followed by a Marchesa evening gown. She made the look versatile so that it was easily transferrable from day to night. For the day, she created a low side chignon bun, to be let down in curls for the evening. I thought that was brilliant! For make-up, I wanted a more natural look inline with the theme of a destination wedding.
What did you do with your wedding dress after the wedding?
It is still sitting at home! I have plans to sell it but it is absolutely gorgeous so I am having second thoughts now.
Jessica Lee is now happily married and she still looks as stunning as she did on that day…
